woman driving flintstones car

As a kid, I always wondered what it would be like if everyone drove vehicles like in the Flintstones. It would be a great form of exercise, using your feet to propel yourself forward, even potentially improving fuel economy, and it would be hilarious seeing a grown woman digging her Prada heels into the ground, trying to come to a stop; however, it wouldn’t be very safe for her or for anyone around her.

Safety is one of the most important factors when it comes to owning a vehicle. Getting a new paint job or some slick new rims may help you turn a few heads, but there are more important things you should worry about first. You never know when you may have a flat tire or may start having issues with your brakes, even small issues can have a huge impact on your vehicle’s safety. I once had a sensor on my front left tire go out. For a while, I didn’t think much of it. One night, on my way home from work, I heard some screeching coming from the bottom left side of my truck. It turns out the sensor issue was caused due to the fact that my wheel bearing was beginning to crack. I would never have guessed something so small was actually part of a much larger problem.

Thankfully, I jumped on the problem when I did. Had I not, the issue could have snowballed, affecting multiple other parts of the driveline and wheel components.

Most car repair shops will charge you an arm and a leg just to diagnose a problem. That’s why it’s a good idea to set some money aside in case of an automotive emergency and be sure to periodically take your vehicle in for routine maintenance. I, personally, would rather spend a little money now than to wait until a big issue suddenly pops up that I am completely unprepared for. A running car always beats having to get down the road Flintstones’ style!
